EXALTED CREATURES OF THE WYLD PDF

The term "the Wyld" is used to describe both the formless chaos that exists beyond the elemental poles and the places where that chaos has intruded upon Creation , most notably in the wake of the Fair Folk invasion that followed the Great Contagion , which they call the Balorian Crusade. This is because these lands were once a part of Creation , and are still tainted by it. Pure Chaos is nearly as dangerous to the Fair Folk as it is to the denizens of Creation. The Unshaped do not tolerate the shaped lightly, and many Raksha who venture into these reaches become pawns of Fomorian masters.

Lands which are no longer part of the Wyld, but still show signs of its touch are called Tainted Lands.

Exposure to the Wyld can cause Wyld Mutation , twisting creatures into surreal amalgams of other life, Wyld Mutants. Structure of the Wyld The Wyld is broken up into four zones: Bordermarches The Bordermarches are the portions of the Wyld closest to Creation , regions that are not so much areas of total entropy but subtle changes to reality.

The Bordermarches are certainly more dangerous than most areas of Creation, but the chaos is not so extreme that madness and death are a constant, extreme risk. Middlemarches Where reality is warped into a barely recognizable state. Deep Wyld In which many mortals quickly lose their sanity. Pure Chaos Where the Unshaped reign supreme. Waypoints Waypoints are locations in the Wyld, and are the measure of distance where a term like "miles" would be mutable and arbitrary.

Creatures of the Wyld

Abomination Pox and Deficiencies These are the mildest of Wyld mutations. Creatures with a pox, or even several poxes, are usually able to survive in Creation, and most who suffer from these minor changes avoid the Wyld in hopes of preserving what humanity they have left. Poxes Blurred Fate Demonic Mutation : A character with this demonic mutation is so infused with the Essence of Malfeas that he stands at the edge of fate. This benefit only applies to divinatory attempts — the character gains no additional defense against Sidereal astrology effects once the Sidereal has successfully targeted him. Claws can be retractable or hidden under gloves, but fangs are visible whenever the mutant eats or speaks. Elemental Adaptation Special Pox : The mutant has become adapted to a specific elemental region. Since the Earth Pole is in the center of the Realm, far from the Wyld, there are only four types of elemental adaptations: air, fire, water and wood.

List of Exalted publications

System[ edit ] The game uses ten-sided dice and a variation of the Storyteller System [4] to arbitrate the action, and, as with many other RPGs, requires little beyond the rulebooks themselves, dice, pencil, and paper. The Exalted version of the rules were derived from the trilogy of White Wolf Publishing games Aeon Trinity , Aberrant, and Adventure where the idea of a fixed target number of 7 or higher was first introduced. Characters may be frequently presented with challenges that normal human beings, even within the context of the game, would find difficult, deadly, or simply impossible. However, as the chosen champions of greater powers, each Exalt possesses Charms, which may either enhance their natural capabilities or manifest as shows of great power. An Exalt with low-level archery charms might find her arrows hitting with preternatural accuracy, while greater faculty might allow her to shoot without difficulty to the edge of her vision, or turn a single arrow into a deadly rain of ammunition.
